Review - Geoffrey Lakeman & Rob Murch
31/01/20

Wow – a scintillating performance from Geoffrey Lakeman (Crane duet concertina, tenor vocals) and Rob Murch (banjo) at the Everyman Folk Club last night. Each a master of his vintage instrument, their creative arrangements of songs and adventurous tunes – old and new – were well balanced with humorous anecdotes. Thank you both for an excellent and joyous evening of folk, ragtime and Americana; it certainly was foot-stomping.

Bravo to our entertaining and interesting floor performers - Matthew Robertson; Steve Shipley, Mim Barnes & Marya Parker (Tin River); Terence Blacker; David Jackson; Bill Johnston & Sheila Darling, and Dave Tricker. Your contribution to the evening is greatly appreciated.

Thanks also to each and everyone in our marvellous audience - the room was bursting at the seams! You always make our guests and new visitors to the club most welcome, and your exceptional chorus singing is unrivalled. See you next time, Friday 28 February 2020, when we’re delighted to have Tim Edey as our guest … one of the finest guitar and melodeon plays on the worldwide Celtic music scene.
