What a fascinating and edifying evening with Nick Dow at the Everyman Folk Club last night. Nick’s warm, robust baritone voice, combined with his exceptional phrasing, had us all bewitched. The construction of each song, with voice and guitar accompaniment drifting into each other, was truly elegant. We enjoyed a wealth of traditional songs, each preceded by an enlightening introduction. It was a privilege to have Nick share with us stories of living and working with Travellers, and of his journeys throughout the UK and around the world.

Many thanks to our admirable floor performers for their part in the evening’s entertainment - Mike Acott, Penny Mackay, Mossy Christian & Megan Wisdom, Charlie Haylock, Tracey Wisdom, and Robin Pooley joined by Colin Mallett.  

Heavy rain, local flooding, and more cones than ever seen before on Suffolk’s roads in one evening did not deter our amazing audience. Thank you all for coming and, of course, for your excellent singing. See you next time – Friday 28 April 2023 – when Brian Peters makes a welcome return to the Everyman.
