Review - The Teacups
29/09/17

What a stupendous start to our new season at the Everyman Folk Club last night with our guests, The Teacups. Kate Locksley, Rosie Calvert, Alex Cumming and Will Finn displayed outstanding musicality with their intricate and delicate harmonies, every one beautifully pitched. Each of their excellent traditional and self-penned songs was given a lively and informative introduction, and the whole performance was enthralling.

We had entertaining and interesting floor performers too – Matthew Robertson, Shirley Harry, Mike Green & Dave Tricker, Bill Johnson & Sheila Darling, Steve Danby and Charlie Haylock. Thank you all.

Special thanks to Charlie for donating a copy of his book, Sloightly On The Huh, in celebration of this Suffolk phrase - On The Huh - being added to the Oxford English Dictionary – and for delighting us with his wonky teapot too!

Many thanks to our magnificent audience for making the first event of this season so wonderful. It is always a treat to hear you all singing choruses with such passion and pleasure. We hope to see you next month, Friday 27 October, when Ken Wilson makes a welcome return to the Everyman joined by Jim McFarland.
