Review - Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts
28/02/20

Katriona Gilmore (vocals, violin, mandolin) & Jamie Roberts (vocals, guitar) were tremendous at the Everyman Folk Club last night. Their original songs had superbly crafted arrangements making full use of their talents, particularly Jamie’s dexterous guitar playing and Katriona’s beautiful voice. Thoughtful and heartfelt stories were sung sincerely, with ‘She Doesn’t Like Silence’ bringing a tear to many eyes. Enchanting.

Terrific floor performers treated us to entertaining songs, tunes and monologues – David Cotter, Alan Day, John Robinson, Claudia Myatt, Philip Lyons, and Keith & Mary-Jane Tyrell. Many thanks to you all.

Heavy rain and local flooding didn’t discourage our magnificent audience. Thank you all for your splendid chorus singing and your continued support of the Everyman. Thanks too for your generous contributions to the fundraising efforts being made by Katriona and Jamie for little Oliver Stephenson. We will see you again on Friday 27 March 2020, when Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne returns to the Everyman, this time for a solo performance.
