Review - Dipper Malkin
26/04/19

An enchanting evening at the Everyman Folk Club last night with our guests, Dipper Malkin. The unique combinations of John’s viola d’amore and Dave’s three guitars were beautifully balanced throughout their ingenious blend of traditional and contemporary tunes, and Dave’s songs were captivating. Their huge respect for the tradition whilst being innovative and original was fascinating, not least in their encore – a wonderful reinterpretation of The Parting glass.

Many thanks to all our floor spots for their engaging performances - Graham Wadeson, Mike Green, Tracey & Megan Wisdom, and Keith & Mary-Jane Tyrell. Steve and I had fun singing too.

Thanks as well to everyone in our lovely audience for your continued support of the club, and for welcoming our guests and new visitors. We’re looking forward to next time - Friday 31 May 2019 – when we are delighted to have Reg Meuross as our booked guest.
