Review - Wilson, Barber & Temples
31/10/14

A phenomenal night at the Everyman yesterday. After years of planning, the wonderful Wilson brothers were unable to be our guests as Tom and Chris are unwell. We wish them both a speedy recovery. But the show must go on … the emergency callout system was activated … and we were delighted to present *two* splendid acts!

Barrie & Ingrid Temple travelled to Suffolk from Tyneside, while Mike Wilson (last man standing?!) made a major diversion from Teeside to bring Damien Barber from West Yorkshire. Bravo!

Barrie & Ingrid captivated the audience with their wonderful close harmony singing and Geordie humour, and gave an exhilarating performance. Mike and Damien were equally entertaining and enthralling, with magnificent renditions of songs old and new. They ended the evening together as an unprecedented super-group.

Brilliant floor spots from Mike Acott, Keith and Mary-Jane Tyrrell, John Wright and Terence Blacker, Derek Hewitson & Tracey Baldwin (aka Something Happened).

We are indebted to our admirably loyal audience who, when presented with an alternative guest line up on the night, showed only enthusiasm and support.

Ken, Ade, Steve and I also very much appreciate the contributions made by Steve Danby, Tony Simpson, Robert Markham, Sheila Darling, Chrissy Sills and Jan Tong in ensuring everything ran smoothly on a most unusual evening!
