Review - The Artisans Trio

We were treated to outstanding musicianship at the Everyman Folk Club on Friday evening with our guests, The Artisans Trio. Emily Askew, Hazel Askew and Sarah Stuart brought to life Mediaeval and Renaissance music, performing songs and tunes from England, France, Spain and Italy on a range of fascinating ancient instruments including recorders, vielle, medieval harp, shawm, and percussion – stunning!

Entertaining floor spots too, from Mike Green & Dave Tricker, Shirley Harry, Charlie Haylock, Bill Johnston & Sheila Darling, Martin Walker, and Mary-Jane & Keith Tyrell – thanks to you all.

It was tremendous to have an audience of more than 100 Folk for our first evening of the year. We are very grateful to each and every one of you for your continued support of the Club. See you next month, Friday 26 February, when Pete Coe makes a welcome return to The Everyman with Alice Jones.
