Review - Rosie Hood & Lucy Huzzard
27/09/19

We began the new season at the Everyman Folk Club on Friday evening with a touch of class – guests Rosie Hood and Lucy Huzzard. Rosie’s accomplished voice was accompanied most sensitively by Lucy’s melodeon, sometimes with Rosie playing guitar too, and their skillful arrangements underpinned their evident devotion to the folk tradition. Rosie and Lucy gave an absorbing performance of traditional songs, many from Wiltshire, as well as their own material, and we were also treated to a few stunning tunes from Lucy.

The evening included entertaining floor singing from Deidre Lamont, trio of Des Tighe, Bryony Quainton & Jed Stone, Charlie Haylock, Shirley Harry, visitors Irene & Peter Parsons, and Steve Danby. Many thanks to all for their contribution to the evening.

After the Summer break, it was lovely to see our tremendous audience again. Thanks to all for singing enthusiastically, and for welcoming new folk. See you next time – Friday 25 October 2019 – when we are thrilled to have Damien Barber and Mike Wilson as our guests.
