Review - Steve Turner
25/01/19

We had a wonderful evening at the January Everyman Folk Club with our first guest of 2019, Steve Turner. The songs Steve chose to perform from his vast repertoire all had great tunes and an interesting story to tell, and each benefited from his outstanding accompaniments on concertina, cittern and mandolin. It was a treat to hear this brilliant, inventive player and singer again.

Many thanks to all our floor spots for their fine contributions to the evening – Tony Simpson, Shirley Harry, Mike Green & Dave Tricker, Dave Cotter, Keith & Mary-Jane Tyrrell, and Terence Blacker.

Thanks too, as always, to our enthusiastic audience, for singing so strongly and with such passion. And all good wishes to those unable to be there due to coughs and sneezes – hoping you get well soon!

There’s only a fortnight to wait until next time – Friday 22 February 2019 – when we are thrilled to have JIB, an amalgamation of three of the finest singers from the North East: Barrie & Ingrid Temple and Jim Mageean. See you there.
